Love the "old school" amps from back in the day. Pity is now its much cheaper to buy a Chinese made amp than spend the time/$ repairing one. Myself.. I have several US made amps from the early 90s that are still working. I wonder how long the brands from China will last.

Opticom has 10,000 possible codes, so you would need to do a similar frame by frame analysis for each area. Too many people figured out that you could build a simple 14 hz flasher with 555 chips, or even use some commercial strobe lights, and change traffic lights, so they started encoding them. I bought an Opticom receiver and phase selector off eBay for my traffic signal display in my basement, but I factory reset it to accept all or no codes so I can just build a simple 555 emitter to trigger it.

Would like more info on this project but RUclips's new PM system requires that your channel is associated with Google+. This very same idea has crossed my mind but I have never seen an implementation.

And the power supply fets are ALL n channel if look they are labeled 'MTP75N05HD' 75 amp 50v rated mosfets.

Have you checked a lil chip labeled "tl702" it's kinda near the transformer it's a ic chip. Usually when the output blows up that chip will go too and leave the amp in protection. I had a bd500 that was stuck in protection I had to replace that chip

Where do you live? I first tried using a 555 timer to drive a high power transistor/IR Array. I had a multimeter monitoring the output frequency at both 10Hz and 14Hz and could capture the IR output with a camera. I had zero success. I also programmed a Arduino PRO Mini with the software used in this video and it did not work either. Right now, I am trying to develop a scheme that can go through all combinations of sequences, but having trouble trying to figure out the modulation.

Nicely siad and thought thur.. just showing some of what works what is a plus to me.. Its nice to know what fets are working what and going what derection.. I got a BD1500.1 an see sparks going from a fet to a resister an the power supply makes a ring sound but works great.. where you think you can get the gain pots from?? mine are gruty sounding.
